Asif qualified as a Dental Surgeon in 2002 with distinctions and 4 gold medals securing graduate of the year award. He also has a Masters in Business Administration. In 2006 he was awarded the Membership Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons and later from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Since then has held various appointments both in the Hospital and academic settings which have varied from working in have been the Imperial College NHS Trust, Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals and Kings College Hospital, these have mostly been in Oral Surgery, He is a mentor and involved in teaching.
Asif further underwent postgraduate specialization in prosthodontics leading to a Masters in Clinical dentistry award followed by the MRD in Prosthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and a Fellowship in prosthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is a recognized specialist in Prosthodontics from the GDC and a fellow from the European Prosthodontic Association.
His current focus is in safe techniques and materials in dentistry and has a keen interest and flare in aesthetics, implants, bone augmentation, sinus grafts and oral surgery. He performs surgical procedures under local, relative and IV Sedation both in the primary and a secondary setting.
He is currently leading the Oral Health project in The Gambia. He also is part of the Humanity First Medical Disaster response team.
